Automated enhanced background checks for energy & utilities
The Danish energy sector is undergoing a historic strengthening of security and emergency preparedness. With EU NIS2 and CER directives and Danish Executive Order no. 1075 of 27 August 2025 on security clearances in the energy sector, organisations are now subject to stricter requirements for the background check of employees and suppliers with access to critical functions. This places new demands on how organisations document and follow up on their controls. P-Secure makes it easy to manage the entire process digitally and comply with background check requirement, from initial employment to re-checks, with full traceability and documentation in accordance with GDPR and applicable data protection regulations.

Challenges in energy sector compliance
The energy and utilities sector operates under continuously evolving background check requirements, including requirements ID and CV check of employees.
Organisations must ensure that employees, contractors, and partners with access to critical functions undergo proper background checks, and that all documentation meets regulatory standards. In practice, this is often complex and resource intensive.
Manual processes can lead to:
- Delays in onboarding
- Incomplete or inconsistent documentation
- Increased risk of non-compliance
- Time-consuming audit preparation
At the same time, regulatory expectations require organisations to maintain accurate, traceable, and audit-ready records at all times.
