Research
The research sector faces political demands to strengthen the protection of Danish research against espionage, unwanted influence and illegal transfer of information to sanctioned countries. These requirements are described in the URIS guidelines from the Ministry of Education and Research
Certain parts of the research sector are additionally classified as “critical infrastructure” and will be covered by the Critical Devices Resilience Act. It involves requiring universities to conduct background checks on employees, consultants and vendors who have access to critical functions at the university.
Even those parts of universities that are not classified as critical infrastructure are also met with a demand for increased security.
