We will be the leading provider of automated background checks for critical infrastructure in the EU

From research to critical infrastructure

The idea for P-Secure originated in 2022, when we were asked to assist Danish research institutions and companies in complicated cases of possible espionage. One of the tasks was to screen researchers, suppliers and delegation visits. The amounts of data were enormous and a manual analysis would be neither possible nor defensible. A partially automated screening software was needed which could support the analysis task. The problem was that individual units would either have to build capacity themselves locally or rely on consultants in all future. That task we set out to solve.

From MVP to product

We managed to bring together a team of former colleagues with extensive experience in the intelligence field, and together we began the development of an MVP (Minimum Viable Product), which we quickly put into operation with a limited number of customers. We received a lot of great input that we continuously incorporated into the software.

We found that few companies or research institutions have the necessary skills to translate the authorities' recommendations into practical measures. That is why we started the development of a real case management system that can be used at all levels of a company and which is continuously further developed on the basis of experience from different sectors, so that knowledge is anchored in software and not in individuals. This should ensure a uniform and objective processing of data as well as a guarantee of compliance with applicable legislation such as the General Data Protection Regulation.

To be on the safe side, we chose to follow management practices from the public sector we knew, with all the requirements for deletion deadlines, logging requirements, etc. We decided to use only our own developers and that everything should be hosted in Denmark to avoid legal entanglements about possible data transfer to e.g. THE UNITED STATES.For at være på den sikre side valgte vi at følge forvaltningspraksis fra den offentlige sektor, vi kendte, med alle krav om slettefrister, logningskrav osv. USA.

In 2024, we introduced P-Secure to airports, and the solution is now in operation at several Danish and Greenlandic airports as well as at a large number of their suppliers.I 2024 introducerede vi P-Secure til lufthavne, og løsningen er nu i drift i flere danske og grønlandske lufthavne samt hos en stor del af deres leverandører.

In 2025, we gained our first partners in both Norway and Sweden. In mid-2025, P-Secure received a significant capital injection when we chose to sell 25% of the company to three funds: EIFO (the Danish state), Ugly Duckling Ventures and Final Frontier. This enabled us to adjust our strategy and strengthen our focus on other critical sectors outside of aviation and outside of Denmark. In order to scale the company to the rest of Europe, we have worked hard to reduce development and operating costs by reducing the complexity of our extensive code base. The first step was the introduction of a new and modernized administrator platform, and in early 2026 we will launch a new version of the applicant page. With the new platform, we can introduce new features faster in the different European countries.
