P-Secure (often written as Psecure) is a platform for handling automated background checks, including verifying identity, résumé, criminal record, and more. P-Secure helps companies and organizations streamline and automate background checks on both new and existing employees.

Foreign states, in particular, have great interest in high-tech and defense policy areas. This applies in particular to energy technology, biotechnology, quantum technology, space technology, robotics, as well as defence industrial products and products subject to export controls. The fact that a number of Danish research areas and products can be used both in civilian and military terms, the so-called 'dual-use', only makes the issues even more complex.

PET notes that foreign states, for example through intelligence activities, have been trying for several years to obtain information and in some cases have sought to influence decisions on critical infrastructure in Denmark. Critical infrastructure is understood here as functions and systems that are essential for the performance of socially important tasks, such as energy and electricity supply, transport, healthcare, security and financial services. The threat to Danish critical infrastructure can also be directed at or emanated from suppliers and subcontractors who may have important information about, for example, IT systems, technical equipment, business partners and employees (p. 25).
Espionage against critical infrastructure can, among other things, provide access to information that could enable physical acts of sabotage. In PET's assessment, it is currently less likely that foreign states will carry out physical sabotage against critical infrastructure located on Danish territory, but the threat picture may change at very short notice in the event of an escalating conflict. Parts of the critical infrastructure on which Denmark relies are located outside Danish territory. This concerns, inter alia, subsea pipelines and cables (p. 26).

Illegal procurement
PET estimates that foreign states such as Russia, China, Iran, Pakistan, North Korea and Syria are actively seeking to acquire or divert Danish products and technology to use them in their own weapons production or in military programs. Illegal procurement can occur, among other things, by Danish companies exporting products or providing technical assistance that, through intermediaries, end up in the wrong hands. It can be difficult to detect that the recipient of a product is cooperating with the military of another country if, for example, the real recipient is hiding behind tire companies.

Why we need background checks at all levels:
Our combined experience from the Danish intelligence services shows that espionage can occur at all levels of an organization/company. All employees, consultants and suppliers with knowledge of procedures, workflows and physical and electronic inputs may be vulnerable. Likewise, any employee with access to trade secrets may pose a vulnerability. Access to trade secrets need not be direct, but can also be random/sporadic. This means that information can also be accessed, for example, from cleaning staff to external IT consultants, accounting firms or other suppliers who have either physical or remote access to the company.
Yes. All information is collected with the applicant's own consent and processed and stored in accordance with GDPR. The applicant will always be informed about exactly what information is collected and processed, as the applicant himself is an active part of the background check and is guided through the individual parts step by step. No information is obtained which cannot be justified in relation to an employment relationship and the type of screening can be adapted to the individual position or function in order to comply with the principles of proportionality.
Easy deletion rules can be set up for cases so that they are not kept longer than necessary and an applicant can always request to have his or her information corrected or deleted.
No. P-Secure has chosen to follow the instructions of the upcoming EU Regulation on the use of AI/Artificial Intelligence, which is expected to enter into force in 2026. As a result, AI is not allowed to make automated decisions, such as endorsements or rejections of candidates. Instead, P-Secure provides an easy and transparent decision-making base for the company. One can approve or reject individual points of attention and, on that basis, approve or reject a candidate.
P-Secure cannot perform security clearances. Only PET and FE are authorised in Denmark for these approvals. However, it is very limited who needs a security clearance and the two concepts are often confused.
This means that approval within the territory of the Ministry of Defence is done through the Defence Intelligence Service (FE), while the Ministry of Foreign Affairs approves within their area, the Energy Agency within the territory of the Ministry of Climate, Energy and Supply, etc.
The two concepts, background screening and security clearance, are often confused, but it's important to understand that security clearance is only relevant in very specific cases, and that process is far more complex than a regular background screening.
If your company or organisation is characterised as critical infrastructure, it is an EU requirement that you conduct background checks on people performing sensitive tasks or are authorised to gain direct or remote access to company premises, information or control systems. In addition, specific regulatory requirements exist for certain industries, for example on enhanced background checks for airport employees and airport suppliers.
Technical
P-Secure anvender som udgangspunkt E-ID (fx MitID) til verificering af identitet. I de tilfælde, hvor en ansøger ikke har E-ID anvendes pas som verifikation. P-Secure verificere oplysninger fra E-ID og pas med offentlige registre, herunder CPR-registret.
P-Secure anvender offentlige og verificerede indkomst- og pensionsoplysninger til at autogenerere et CV komplet med detaljerede oplysninger om virksomheder, såfremt det er en dansk virksomhed. CV-tjekket findes i en version tilpasset de særlige krav til CV-tjek for lufthavne og leverandører til lufthaven, som efterlever Trafikstyrelsens krav til "udvidet baggrundskontrol"
P-Secure fortager automatisk en analyse af indhold og tekst i den uploadede straffeattest, herunder om attesten er ren. P-Secure detekterer evt. forsøg på manipulation ved hjælp af en avanceret dokumentanalyse og sammenholder samtidig navn og personnummer med oplysninger fra personregistre.
P-Secure kan autolæse fotos af pas og kørekort og trække alle relevante informationer fra dokumentet, herunder navn, cpr-nummer, udløbsdato, statsborgerskab, kørekortskategorier m.v. Hvor muligt, vil disse blive krydstjekket med oplysninger fra offentlige registre, herunder CPR-registret.
Ansøgeren bliver bedt om at angive et antal referencer som en del af baggrundstjekket. Antallet defineres af virksomheden. Ansøgeren angiver navn, stilling og e-mail på referencen som herefter modtager en autogeneret e-mail med et link, der fører til en portal, hvor referencen bliver bedt om at be- eller afkræfte ansættelsesforholdet. Der er også mulighed for at knytte en kommentar til ansættelsesforholdet og angive om man ønsker at blive kontaktet eller ej. Den e-mail som referencen modtager kan sættes op så den sendes fra virksomhedens egen e-mailadresse, så det sikres, at det ikke ligner spam eller et phishing-forsøg.
Nej. P-Secure screener ikke sociale medier. Kvaliteten af en automatiseret screening af sociale medier vil være meget svingende. P-Secure er baseret på verificerede og offentlige eller åbne datakilder. En screening af sociale medier kan derudover for mange virke som meget grænseoverskridende og det vil være meget svært at definere entydige og objektive parametre for en sådan screening. P-Secure kan dog foretage en manuel og individuel analyse og vurdering af en persons sårbarhed og relationer efter særlig aftale med kunden og med samtykke fra den undersøgte.
Hvor mange screeninger du kan foretage på en måned eller et år afhænger af det valgte abonnement.
Nej. P-secure har valgt at følge anvisningerne i den kommende EU forordning om brug af AI/kunstig intelligens, der forventes at træde i kraft i 2026. Som følge af dette må AI ikke foretage automatiserede afgørelser, som f.eks. godkendelser eller afvisninger af kandidater. P-Secure leverer i stedet et nemt og overskueligt beslutningsgrundlag til virksomheden. Man kan godkende eller afvise de enkelte opmærksomhedspunkter og på det grundlag godkende eller afvise en kandidat.
Ja. Der kan oprettes et ubegrænset antal "screeningstyper". På en screeningstype kan det indstilles, hvilke kategorier en ansøger skal tjekkes for (fx. CV og straffeattest). Disse kan frit til- og fravælges og der kan sættes specifikke krav til de enkelte kategorier.
P-Secure kan udvikle specialløsninger til jeres virksomhed, hvis der skal søges i særlige eller egne datakilder. Derudover har P-Secure en ”hotliste”-funktion. Med den funktion kan jeres virksomhed oprette lister med ord eller tekst. Det kan blandt andet være lister over konkurrerende eller blacklistede virksomheder eller lignende. P-Secure vil søge alle informationer fra ansøgeren igennem og er der et match, får I en notifikation.
Ja. Efter integration kan oplysninger fra ansøgere overføres direkte til jeres HR system.
P-Secure har desuden en API-generator så din virksomhed selv kan oprette en forbindelse til jeres HR-system så sager kan oprettes herfra.
Ja. Der vil for alle sager være en udførlig log, herunder hvem der har set en sag og foretaget vurderinger på en sag.
Ja. P-Secure kan autogenerere en rapport med alle screeningsresultater, herunder hvordan I som virksomhed har vurderet de enkelte opmærksomhedspunkter. Dette kan tjene som fremtidig dokumentation og som bevis for fuldendt baggrundsundersøgelse.
